Our Founder

Erica P. John was born just before WWII in Rome, Italy, of Austrian parents who met in Rome. She was educated at Rome’s Classical Lyseum and lived a pious life with a great devotion to Jesus and the Blessed Mother. When she was eighteen a friend introduced her to an American man, Harry John, who had come to Italy to photograph religious art. They stayed in touch by writing to each other. When Erica was 21 she moved to the States to live with her aunt in NYC and attend Columbia University.  When Harry discovered her plans he flew to NYC to ask if she would come to Milwaukee to help him with his new religious calendar business. She agreed thinking she would go to Milwaukee to make some money and then return to her studies. However, they soon fell in love, got married and started a family.
