Thank you, Archbishop Listecki

Archbishop Jerome E. Listecki has been a pillar of faith and leadership for the Milwaukee Catholic community. His deep involvement in important initiatives has strengthened the spiritual and moral fabric of our community. Archbishop Listecki’s pastoral heart has been felt across our churches and schools, where his visionary leadership has stabilized church structures and expanded the seminary, ensuring a steady influx of priests to serve our community.

Archbishop Listecki has been a steadfast advocate for Catholic education, playing a pivotal role in the establishment of the Seton Catholic Schools. This school system has notably enhanced the quality and reach of Catholic education in the Milwaukee area, especially in neighborhoods of great need.

His unwavering commitment to social justice is evident through his support for Catholic Charities and Catholic Relief Services. These organizations are widely respected for their efforts to address poverty, immigrant rights, violence and other social issues.

In honor of Archbishop Jerome E. Listecki, our esteemed Director of the Erica P. John Fund, we have contributed $500,000.00 to the Seton System of Schools to help ensure its effectiveness and longevity. While we will miss interacting with him on our board, we take solace in knowing that he will remain in Milwaukee, continuing to be a part of our community.

We also want to take this opportunity to welcome Archbishop Jeffrey S. Grob to Milwaukee and to our board.  We look forward to getting to know this Wisconsin native, as we find common ground on which to act together. We hope that you, Archbishop Grob, will make yourself right at home in Milwaukee so we can continue to pursue mutual goals for the benefit of our Diocese.
